Yum! Yum!

Daniel's grandma always made cabbage rolls for Easter dinner. This was definitely not a tradition my family had but something I know he always looked forward to them at Easter time! A few weeks ago I told him I'd make him some since his Grandma wasn't around to fix him any and of course he didn't argue. They turned out great!
The crock pot was super full (layered with big cabbage rolls)--there were 4 adults eating them ...and we ended up with only 3 leftover! I sent the picture to Daniel while he was at work. :-)

We had friends over for dinner and they enjoyed them also! I made a peach dump cake (which sounds terrible but is really tasty!) for dessert and topped it off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

Zach protested bedtime after our friends went home.

Last night there was a paper airplane fight in our living room.. pretty sure the boys were hoping for the same today. nope.

and last but not least...Daniel plugged the microphone in to the tv and Emily just babbled into it.
She's a talker...like her momma.

Babbling Baby!

This was last night at our house...

I'm still hoping today to get a video of the little lady crawling!

Easter project!

So I wanted to order my kiddos personalized Easter baskets...but I'm too cheap to spend nearly $100 for the baskets & liners total .... so I decided to tackle it myself! So far I've handstitched their names on the fabric. Maybe I'll get the liners finished and put on the baskets this weekend???

Their baskets are each a different color (that matches the name stitching) and I have ribbon for each of them also. I think they're going to be just lovely!

We've been busy!

Lucky us! The power company took down our terrible tree on the corner that was covered in poison ivy when we moved in. Daniel and my dad took care of getting rid of the poison ivy but the dead vines were still on part of the tree. Power compay saved us about $500!

A corner of our living room needed something so I created something!! The shelf was supposed to be 15 min easy installation....took me about an hour. Then I reused a few things that were about to be recycled by wrapping them with twine!

Emily had jello.

And sat happily at karate while eating a graham cracker.

She loved on Jelly Bean.

Daniel says it looks like she's in a rodeo.

and she sure does love her kitty.

The boys helped Daniel with some logs.

little lumberjacks.

helping Daniel out splitting wood!

They tried on their baseball pants!! Soooo excited for t-ball!

Jacob did really well at karate class!

Perfect kicks! He earned his 2nd stripe for showing responsibility! (1st stripe was for having an awesome attitude!)

Emily loves blowing raspberries.

and she thought it was great that she could see herself in the camera.

Silly girl.

And tonight, we watched 3 sweet little boys for some friends of ours.

Noah being silly with Emily

The "big boys" playing Mario Kart!

Emily got the mask!

Cute kids!!

She's trying so hard to crawl!

They loved the ring stacking toy.

Emily got the stacking part!

Pretty sure he was thinking "What in the world is this girl doing?"

Come here, Noah!! Share the rings!

the leprechaun trap!

The boys have been talking about trapping a leprechaun since Friday night. They had their plan all figured out and their materials gathered and seemed a little disappointed when we told them they needed to wait until Saturday night to put their trap out. Well, they set it out tonight, I moved it, and at some point while I was cleaning up....the leprechaun came! The boys thought that a clear glass bowl would be best. Their plan was to put my wedding rings under the bowl to attract the leprechaun...I told them a shiny penny would do just the same. :-) The shiny penny went under the bowl so the leprechaun would see it and think there was gold in the bowl and then he'd get in the bowl and wouldn't be able to get out (and wouldn't get the "gold"). Well, our leprechaun must've been clever......

Notice he used toothpicks to prop the bowl up enough to get the penny out from under it.
He also painted on my bowl!! And somehow he didn't get caught in the trap.

Better luck next year is right!

ha!

So, I don't really get all the hype about the harlem shake but someone posted on facebook about the Virginia Tech harlem shake so of course I had to look it up and it had both Daniel and myself laughing.. .

I know, that was totally unrelated to any of us but thought it was funny!

Another thing that I found extremely interesting (that I learned from Jake's karate instructor yesterday) was that you can upload an image to google and it'll search for similar images. (But I still need to find time to try it!)

Today was good, long and exhausting, but good. Both boys were great at school and got on blue so that meant we went out for a sweet treat this evening....our first trip (of many I'm sure) to Rita's this year! YUM!!!

sleepy girl!

Emily got quite the workout tonight in the jumperoo. I got a video of some serious jumping...and a little while later she was worn out...

Still bouncing...and sleeping.
As soon as I stopped taking the video she started snoring. Bless her little heart.  I quickly swooped her up and got her to bed!

karate kid!

I finally remembered my camera to take pictures at karate class on Saturday...

(Monday & Wednesday they wear their full uniform. Saturdays they wear their karate pants & belt. I'm supposed to have a specific t-shirt for him to wear on Saturdays but I need to order it still!)

T-Ball starts soon so after my parents and brother in law left on Sunday Daniel took the boys out for some throwing and catching practice.

step. point. throw. repeat.

We had a great weekend and such wonderful weather!

Math & Science Night

Tonight was Math & Science Family Night at the boys' school. We had such a fun time!

You were supposed to make a pattern--Jacob did his own thing.

Zach at a math center.

Jacob's teacher (lady on the left) was running this math center. A boy from Jake's class was at this station at the same time and they had a competition with the game that was fun!

The kids got to make really long straws from lots of regular size straws. Jacob's was 10 straws long. His "best buddy in class" is next to him and Michael's dad is behind him. He was kind enough to help me while Daniel was running Zach to the potty! I needed about 4 hands but had 2....and one was occupied holding onto Emily.

estimating. Not just estimating but estimating with the principal!
