our day...told with pictures

We are seriously enjoying having Daniel home on the weekends! The kids and I visited Maryland this past week so they could surprise their friends that were still in school and have lunch with them. We enjoyed our short trip but not the drive! My mom and I threw a baby shower for one of my cousin's who is expecting twins on Saturday (in Powhatan). We drove back to the mountains Saturday evening and enjoyed slightly cooler temperatures!

Then today happened!

We ate pizza slices that were bigger than our heads.

it was tasty. Our 5 slices were in 2 separate boxes.

The kids and Huck ran around the drill field.

Huck did tricks.
Shake.

Down.

Emily chased Jacob with a stick.

Huck rolled over for some pizza crust.

and showed off his shake again.

it thundered A LOT but we stayed. the cool breeze was amazing.

possibly a future soccer star.

Jacob wanted to play baseball and Emily wanted him to kick the soccer ball with her.

she's already bossy like her momma.

Daniel showed off his moves.

Zach played baseball.

Emily tried to distract Daniel by taking his picture while Zach threw a ball at him.

Say cheese, mommy!

Emily finally got her turn to walk Huck.

She was walking him so nicely but we wanted her to turn him around and walk back to us so we yelled "HUCK! Come!!" and he came...

yes, that'd be his leash flying out of her hand.

but he came (& hit his target!)

from baseball to football..

and more dog walking.

and the pretty clouds :)

my new bracelet. so true.

I decided I needed to put some new jamberry's on my nails too.
I LOVE how they turned out!

He's pretty awesome too.. :)
(and this picture shows just how badly I need a hair cut!!)

As you can tell, it was a great day!

Our first Salem Red Sox game!

We took the kids to a Salem Red Sox game last night. As Daniel put it, he got to watch baseball, I got to watch fireworks, and the kids got to stay up past 10pm! Fun times for all (including the woman sitting a few seats down the row from us that kept staring our way..even after we moved up a little bit. She was clearly jealous of the fun we were having!).
One of the boys actually turned around and asked me why I was taking pictures.
Seriously kid, where have you been your whole life.
My camera is pretty much with me always.

pre-game (of course, during the game there wasn't any more people!)

She stood there with her eyes closed tightly for around 30 seconds waiting for me to take multiple pictures! Goofy girl!

Zach before he got obnoxious. :)

all 3 before they started bugging each other!

Jacob got a ball! (One of the players threw it to him after they warmed up. Unlike the games we went to in Aberdeen where it seemed like every foul ball got tossed to the fans, I saw 1 get tossed during this entire game. Daniel kept heckling the players to throw a ball our way. No luck.)

she was wound up.

watching and waiting for a ball.

the cupid shuffle was playing over the loudspeaker and they were dancing.

Daniel got a crazy funny video. I'd like to say that our kids get their dancing skills from me but I also hope I look more coordinated when I'm dancing!

pretty sure Jacob wasn't picking Emily's nose but well, ya never know.

it was nearly 10pm at this point.

I must've told Zach no. Perhaps this was when he said he needed to go to the bathroom AGAIN...like 10 minutes after I had just taken him. He was hoping we'd walk back by the snack counter. I should've taken a picture of under our seats---pretty sure half of our bucket of popcorn was tossed to the ground.

Emily really did pretty well considering she didn't nap today.

shortly after this it started raining. hard. we took cover for a few minutes and then the fire marshall requested the area we were in be cleared because it was close to fireworks time (and we were super close to where the fireworks would be set off).

the rain did actually stop for a little bit of the fireworks show. and Emily enjoyed part of it. Once it started raining again she was done.

The "fireworks spectacular" as they called it was "awesome" and "amazing" according to our boys.
win. win.
