Easter 2014

Here's some snapshots of our Easter!

Easter Baskets!

Zach, excited about his chocolate bunny.

And since Emily was still asleep, he decided he should make sure there wasn't anything he needed in her basket. Not sure what he thought her new bathing suit was going to be!

Into the candy..

Emily was ridiculously excited about having "pop pops" in her basket.

YUM!

Family photo after church with the sun in our eyes!

:)

Such a nice family picture! (even if Emily isn't smiling!)

silly boys.

And of course, they had to play in the fountain.

Yes, that's my chapstick in Emily's hand. No clue what happened to it when she finally put it down.

goof.

bigger goof.

And it's not Easter without an Easter egg hunt!
We gave Emily a couple of minutes to hunt before the boys. I "hid" around 180 eggs.

She was so excited to find eggs!

And she was on a mission and couldn't be bothered to carry her bucket with her to put the eggs in. She decided the "carry as many eggs as you can at one time" method was the best for her. She's gonna be one of those women that carry every grocery bag in the house in one trip.

And of course, at least one egg fell with each trip. :)

Oh my sweet little Emily.

Aren't her shoes the cutest? They're a little bit brighter than the flowers on the dress but the fabric her dress is made out of is more than 30 years old and I was thrilled to find something that even sort of had similar colors (and wasn't just white).

I made the boys pose for a picture before I let them join in the egg hunt.

And they're off!!!!

Zach found 69 eggs.

Jacob found 83.

Emily discovered that the eggs had candy in them and her hunt was over.

Emily's Easter egg hunt prize.

Zach's Easter egg hunt prize.

And Jacob got the biggest since he found the most!

silly.

Our Easter was really nice, even if we had to head home back to MD that afternoon!

Little League Opening Day!!

Today was opening day for the local Little League. Both boys are playing again this year; Jacob moved up to Minor B and Zach is playing Tee Ball again. Daniel is coaching Zach's team and our neighbor is coaching the Minor B team that Jake is on. Somehow we got lucky and even though they're in different divisions, both teams are the Knights!

Opening Day here begins with a parade where the players all march down Main St and then head back to the field for opening day ceremonies. Once the parade had totally passed me I raced down to the field to see if I could snap a picture or two (from outside of the fence!) of the boys.

Emily and I walked (well, Emily rode in the stroller while I walked!) to the parade and had a good time hanging out being silly before it started.

sunglasses compliments of Mrs. Sarah!

possibly my new favorite picture!

We saw Zach's team...

And then we saw Jacob's team...

And then from waaaaaaay across the field, I got a few pictures of Zach's team coming onto the field (but none of Jacob's because by the time his team was announced there was too many others on the field already!).

Then I had to find them after the ceremonies were over for a quick picture before Emily and I started the long (ok, only 1.3 miles) walk home!

Due to all the rain we had last night, some of the fields were too muddy to play on so both of the boys games got cancelled.

Zach's 100th Day of School!

Zach's class didn't dress up or anything but he came out of school wearing a "100 days of school" hat thingamahoo.
He also had a bag of trail mix that they made at school with 10 marshmallows, 10 kix, 10 chex, 10 butterscotch chips, 10 pretzels, 10 goldfish, 10 chocolate chips, 10 cheerios, and 2 more sets of 10 of other things that I can't remember!!

Such a sweetie pie that is 100 days smarter!

He was too busy eating his trail mix to give me another good smile! His mouth is full!!

Emily was playing with hairbands today..

trouble.

The kids and I made a "house" out of 2 cardboard boxes. Emily and I made a few modifications today while the boys were at school and she loved it!

cheeeeeeeese!

Jacob's 100th Day of School!

Today was Jacob's 100th day of school this year.. Kindergarten started 2 days later than 1st grade so I'm figuring Zach's will be on Monday (though we haven't heard anything about preparing for it like we did Jacob's. Zach had to make a posterboard to take in and we did that already and forgot to take a picture!).

Anyways, Jacob dressed up like an old man.....
 before school.

after school. His teacher had mustaches for all the boys.
She wrote me a note in his agenda that said she loved his outfit and she picked him and another friend in his class to be on the school news that morning. (They have a short little newscast done by kids in the school that the entire school watches during morning announcements.) He was so excited telling me about it! Zach was excited that he saw his brother and was sure to tell his friends that it was his brother!

He didn't have his stick cane at school either, we found it in the driveway and used it for a photo prop.

the old man with the young man. :-)

 and the sweetheart.

a good dog...

I've been watching Zach feed Ringo lately and I've noticed that he frequently gives him a milk bone in his food bowl (with his scoop of food). I pointed it out to Daniel a few days ago and that evening Zach said something to Daniel along these lines... "Dad, when Ringo is a good dog I give him a whole cookie with his food but when he's a bad dog, I break it and he only gets half!" Yeah, take that Ringo! You can still be obnoxious and get a treat. Good dog.
