Jacob's 1st day of 1st grade!!!

Jacob was all excited for his first day of 1st grade today!!! I was sad but I still had Zach and Emily home with me to keep me busy! (Kindergarten doesn't start until Tuesday. We had a conference with Zach's teacher this morning and I think he is going to have a fantastic year!)

He's holding last year's picture of the first day of Kindergarten. Next year he'll be holding this picture.. and we'll continue on and on and on. We did another "first day of school" thing this evening that I plan to do at the beginning and the end of each school year and keep together for him. It'll be fun to look at how things change. :-)

Zach said he was going to miss Jacob today!

Our house was MUCH quieter today with Jacob at school. Zach didn't have anyone to argue or fight with! I'm sure tomorrow and Monday will be the same. I was definitely excited to pick Jacob up at 3:38 today--he had a huge smile when he greeted me and said he had a great day! I asked him if he was going to like first grade and he said he certainly was (& that his teacher is the best ever!)

 

Best part... I didn't cry at all. :)

it's almost party time..

We decided the boys would have a party together this year in Virginia with our family. We figured out a date that would work well for us (because we'll already be in Powhatan for a shower for a special someone!) and then I put it on the back burner and forgot about doing anything!

Anyways, I finished the invitation today and will be sending them out tomorrow (hopefully... or the next day!).... I need to share the picture from the invitation! (I was trying to get them to sit nicely next to each other for a sweet picture at the beach...this is what I got! I didn't have any plans on what to do with the picture then but decided it would be perfect for their party!)

iPhone beach preview!

I didnt bring my laptop to the beach with us--I had enough other stuff to worry about! (Not to mention the stuff I forgot at my moms!) I've taken more pictures than I thought would be possible with 3 kiddos and just me to watch them at the beach. They're almost all on my camera so all you can see for now are a few on my phone! We're having a great time but oh my goodness- 3 kiddos at the beach with 1 adult is hard work!!! Especially when one of those kiddos has to have at least one decent nap or else the rest of us are miserable! Ill be happy to be home and sleeping in my own bed tomorrow night. :)

Ocean City, NJ

We ventured to Ocean City, NJ for a beach day today... I'll spare you the 697 pictures I took in one day (maybe it's a good thing we only went for the day!)...and just share my favorites (yeah, there's a lot of them).

Long story short, we had a blast and wished we could've stayed longer. Next year we'll have a week long beach vacation. (I'm taking the kids for a few days in a week or two also!) The boys of course loved the beach. When we got there Zach declared he was not going in the water but quickly changed his mind. Jacob was happy as could be doing everything...especially scaring the birds away. Emily is destined to be a beach gal. I have never seen a little one love the water and sand as much as she did. You'll see how much fun we had in the pictures. :-) Emily was so tired when we were getting ready to leave that I'm pretty sure she would've taken a nap in the sand if we would've stayed much longer!
