We celebrated Emily's party in Powhatan a few days after her birthday... June 30. We had such a fun time! I would've liked to have taken more pictures than I did but Emily was wanting her momma to hold her much of the time we were there!
the birthday girl Princess.
Loving on me. :)
so sweet.
the party hadn't even started and she was partied out.
a teensy smile!
cheesin' it up.
birthday (cup)cake time!
Let's just clear the air before we even get started. Yes, I made Emily cupcakes for her first birthday. I had big plans in my head for a cake for her but I simply didn't have time. If I would've somehow found the time to decorate the cake, it wouldn't have been super fresh on the inside because it would've been baked like 5 days before the party. ick. We generally always leave for VA on a Friday night and parties are normally on Saturdays....this time it was different. The boys had belt promotions at karate Saturday morning and then we were stopping quickly by a surprise party for a friend of ours on our way to my parent's house Saturday afternoon... and we couldn't do the party til Sunday. So there, she had cupcakes. She loved them. Plus, we had a cake on her actual birthday. :-)

Climbing onto the fireplace hearth seemed to be her favorite thing to do/place to be at my parent's house!
well, getting into Granny's yarn isn't too bad either.
