Zach very early this morning playing at the beach.
our footprints (yes, I've made them do this for the last 3 years)
goofy Zach
I think Zach was taunting the waves.
Jake in the waves
just waiting...

I'm pretty sure they were both saying "bet you can't catch me" to the waves.

being silly.
more silly.
ahhhhhhhhh!
serious goofball.
sand time!
before they started arguing about who got to dump the bucket of water.
Jakeyroo
this was Daniel's "job" while the boys were playing in the sand. He was the water fetcher.
Zach would fill the bucket up with sand after it was filled up with water.
The best way to do this is with a super duper shovel.
Daniel taking a turn filling up the green bucket with water.
Everyone's happy!
Jacob was cold.
It was only like 10am but it looked like there was a storm coming in so we packed up!
At the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.
another view.
the boys and I sitting on the steps of the lighthouse.
spider-kid.
He found a feather. Gross.
He asked me to hold it and I told him he should stand it up in the sand.
Jacob thought scooting down the sand dunes was great. (He backflipped down some yesterday.)
After much chasing, Daniel caught a sand fiddler crab.
After very little chasing, Zach caught a sand fiddler and picked it up.
I have a video that I'll have to work on uploading.
This is the beginning of a scream.
The crab pinched Zach's finger and then went flying as Zach wailed.
Jacob yelled at the crab for pinching his brother and then they proceeded to fill in any of the little crab holes they could find in the sand. Take that you stinky crabs!
(Zach was fine. The crab's pinchers were tiny and I think it just scared him.)
Daniel and I just thought the placement of this sign was funny.
I took more pictures this afternoon when we went back to the beach and just need to import them onto the computer from my little camera. Videos too.
Then maybe I'll go through yesterday's pictures and post some also!
Tomorrow's supposed to be rainy so we're planning on visiting the aquarium!
