We visited with my mom's cousin and her daughters on Saturday. The boys had a blast playing games with Jessica and Elena. We had fun talking with them about college plans and whatnot. Somehow or another though, no pictures were taken. boo.
Saturday afternoon we went over to Daniel's dads house for a bit. (Daniel and the boys had actually gone over Saturday morning for a little bit too and played a little baseball/t ball with Dee-Daw. Emily was napping at my mom's so we stayed there.) When we were at Dee-Daw's that afternoon the boys got to shoot Jonathan and Gabe's BB guns. They've been itching to shoot them for a while now and we promised them we'd let them the next time we came to Powhatan.
playing on the swingset while Daniel got stuff squared away.
Showing Zach what to do..
He's just a little sweetheart.
Jacob's turn!
and again!
and again! (both boys actually hit their targets too!!)
It's so hard to be Emily some days. ;-)
little Princess with her granny.
Sunday had more big plans! Church, breakfast, a cookout, relax!
Emily decided Pa wasn't so bad after all!!
She even gave him a snuggle. :-) We all know she's trying to butter him up. "Grandpa, my birthday is in less than a month.... better buy me something good!"
After church & breakfast we went over to the cemetary that Daniel's grandma and grandpa are buried at. His grandma always tended to his grandpa's gravesite and we wanted to do our part in taking care of it now. Zach and his cousin Jonathan planted the new flowers just the way that Grandma Durrbeck always planted them before (and the same type too!).
They did a lovely job. I wanted to have a picture of the kids in the picture but Daniel told me it was too creepy.
boys being goofy.
We left the cemetary and headed to The Davis' house for a cookout. They were neighbors of mine when I was little in Richmond. We don't get to see them much anymore but have a good time when we get together!
Emily trying to figure out how to open the bubbles!
mmmmmm... blueberries! and calico beans, watermelon, and a hot dog.
notice the hot dog in her hand? She wanted nothing to do with the hot dog I cut up for her--just the part she could crawl around with and cover in grass before she ate it. :-)
Mrs. Davis bought badminton stuff for the kids to play with!
And Zach loved playing it with her!!
The really gross, icky, big spider that thought he would partake in our picnic!
Take my picture, mom!!
Nicole playing cornhole with Jacob and Zach.
The Davis-Heindl-Velez cornhole team.
The Gibson-Beasley-Durrbeck cornhole team.
our team lost..but to be fair, Jacob did all of his throwing from the same place the adults did!
he's getting ready for college ... early. Next on the list is kool aid pong. Daniel said something about beer pong at my mom's house so I told him I'd teach him to play kool aid pong. Best. Mom. Ever. ha.
the plastic knife became her favorite toy.
don't you love his shirt?
cupcake #1
mom tried really hard!
dad was too cool to play, or to sit in a chair.
Emily decided Aunt Celia wasn't too bad either!
catching up on old times!
Here mommy, have her sunglasses!
Zach..making me nervous.
action shot!
Pa thought this was all fine and good til the bubbles landed on him.
the best part of Daniel's day... a daddy nap.
cupcake #2. (I'm pretty sure he had 4.)
Mrs. Davis' birdhouses. Mom thought they were fantastic and I'd have to agree!
Then it was my turn to play badminton with Zach (and Jake but he was taking another cupcake break at this point!).
I was like an all star player. hahaha
Check out his reach!
I told the boys they could play Mariokart at Granny & Pa's when we got back for a few minutes.

On to Memorial Day!
looking all patriotic. :-)
Who is that pretty baby in the mirror??
Mom, do you see her???
so cute.
She seriously loved looking at herself in the mirror. This could be a problem when she's older!
Hi, mom!!
and she's posing already..
Zach in Granny & Pa's strawberry patch!
yum!
playing some more!
and more...
and more! (apparently it's more fun around all of the gardens!)
dad posing like the gnome.
Jacob's "firestick." The boys helped build the firepit right before dad started the fire. He was debating 4 bricks high or 3 (and we settled on 3).
now Zach with the firestick.
it was HOT!
