What a day!!

It's not uncommon for the phone to ring every few days with a recording from the school so when I see a certain number calling I don't necessarily worry...well, maybe I will after today! I got a call from the school nurse. Zach fell backwards out of a chair and hit his head on the heater in the classroom. He had a little-ish cut on the back of his head and the little sweetheart was such a tough guy at school. His teacher said he didn't cry or act like it even really bothered him when it happened. I'm not sure if they sent him to the nurse as a precaution or if it was because they saw blood! (well, let me clarify, I know they would send him for the blood but I'm not sure if the blood was visible through his hair at that point yet!!--the boy needs a haircut!). He burst into tears when I walked into the nurses office. (Thank goodness I was done crying before I got to the school!)

Anyways, the little-ish gash resulted in an ER trip for us. :-(

This picture makes him look like he has a huge headwound!! He's saying his head only hurts this much now. The "bandana" was on his head to keep the topical numbing stuff on the spot so it would be sort of numb for the doctor to work his magic.

We were there for 3 hours---through lunch. Emily was over being stuck in a hospital room. so was I. so was Zach. Lucky Zach though, he got Chick Fil A for lunch...including a milkshake! (Should I mention that at bedtime tonight he asked me "Mom, if I fall out of the chair again tomorrow will I get ice cream again?" NO!!)

 

We had a nice weekend too...well, WE had a nice Saturday. Everyone other than me had a nice Sunday also. I was sick as a dog with a stomach virus.

She was somewhat happier when she was by herself in it.

the mess is unreal. The boys blamed Dee-Daw for making the mess.

 

The kiddos and Daniel all did a really fun steam train thing with some friends Sunday afternoon. I could barely walk to the bathroom so I stayed home. :-/ I still need to upload the pics from that!
