Phew!

What a week we had!

Tuesday was awards day for Kindergarten --

 

 

 

Zach was excited to be there too --

 

 

 

Zach seemed to be feeling fine all of tuesday but when he woke up Wednesday morning it was a different story. Poor little man just didn't feel well and had a fever. I kept him home Wednesday while Daniel went to Connecticut. Thursday morning around 3am Emily woke up and was super unhappy until about 6:30am when she fell asleep for about an hour ad then woke up even more unhappy! On top of Thursday just being miserable in general, I started baking an angry birds cake for our neighbor's kids birthday celebration. Building and decorating the cake continued on Friday.

But I guess I should back up and say that Thursday morning Zach said his throat was hurting a little bit and I had the sneaky suspicision that it was strep throat so I called the doctor first thing and made an appointment. Strep test was positive so that meant another day home from school (Friday).

After another long night with Emily, Saturday rolled around and I finished the cake and we headed to the party!

It turned out pretty nice! I wasn't real happy with the beaks and now I wish I would've gone over the red with a paintbrush of the red color to make it brighter. next time!

 

Everyone seems to be feeling better now...though my kitchen still needs to recover from the baking! (Who am I kidding?!?! My entire house needs to recover from the sick kid, the grumpy kid, and the baking! I have high hopes for this week amidst the craziness of our everyday lives!
