I can definitely say I'm glad to be sitting on my butt tonight! I feel like I've been going like crazy all day! Daniel's friend from Virginia Tech, Nick, stayed with us last night and today so the boys had fun having someone else here. He lives in Boston so we only see him when he has to come down this way for work. He said he would've been just sitting in his hotel room if he hadn't stayed at our house and didn't mind helping out so Daniel put him to work helping rewire some of our really old outlets.
I started out the day cleaning; in fact, our neighbor noticed me washing the inside of our windows at 8am while she was eating breakfast...across the street! (yep Megan, I told on you.) I did my once a year dusting (ok, maybe I do it twice a year) and got all my icky floors vacumned (but not mopped). We invited our neighbors over for dinner tonight and so I was busy getting stuff ready for that. Spicy Pop Pulled Pork, homemade buns, baked beans, corn on the cob, and dinosaur chicken nuggets. Don't forget dessert, pink cupcakes with lots of homemade buttercream icing and a pink white chocolate heart on top (they turned out super cute but I forgot to take a picture...I think there's 2 left so maybe I'll take a picture tomorrow. I'm too lazy now!)! YUM!!
The boys both dressed themselves today and they must be trying to tell me to turn the heat up because they each decided to wear 4 shirts. (but as you can see, pants were not Zach's priority!)
Of course, there was more MarioKart playing. Megan decided they need to get it at their house so during naptime she and I can race each other.
Hopefully the boys will sleep well tonight so they'll be ready to clean their room in the morning before school. They decided a few days ago that they were "packing for vacation" so they pulled nearly all of their clothes out of their closet and dressers and put them in a big pile in their room. Then today they were both looking for specific shirts to wear and apparently the best way to sort the clothes in their pile was to fling them in every possible direction. We managed to get them back in one pile before bed but they need to be put away still! I could tell them to put them away themselves but I like them folded a certain way (weird, I know). :-)
Hope you had a great weeekend too!
