b-beep! b-beep! b-beep!

Thats the sound the lovely little timer I bought makes every 30 minutes to remind Zach to go pee. He was totally potty trained while Jake was in preschool (so, until the end of May) and almost as soon as the preschool year was over he started having way too many accidents! I'm not sure what the cause of it is..all I can figure is he's getting less attention since he's not having those 3 mornings a week with just me. So, today I made "Zach's potty chart." The goal is to get him to go 5 days without having a single accident. He gets a sticker at the end of each day that he doesn't have an accident and if we have the unfortunate incident of an accident, our 5 day stretch will have to start over again. At the end of the 5 days of having dry pants, he gets a fun Lightning McQueen toy that I picked up for him today. He's really excited about the toy so I'm hoping we have success! Jacob drew him a potty chart too thats hanging underneath the one I made. He made sure to tell him how he wanted him to get his 5 stickers so THEY could have HIS new toy.
Yes, thats my extremely ugly kitchen that will get renovated one day. And yes again, thats a pot rack hanging in it with no pots on it because it was that awful. I'll take it down...eventually

Accidents are normally frequent around naptime...when Zach decides he doesn't want to stay in his bed and plays in his room (or sneaks into my room where Jacob is having "quiet time"). Not sure if he's tired, grumpy or just wanting to make me crazy by having accidents then! Today was a "I don't want to take a nap, mommy, day." The thing is, when Zach doesn't take a nap, he doesn't normally make it to 7pm without falling asleep somewhere. Due to our cranky attitudes I turned cartoons on around 4:15 for the boys while I attempted to get something done....and about 10 minutes later when I checked on them this is what I found:
The boys drew me pictures with markers before the real naptime was supposed to start. I think Zach drew more on his hands and my brand new dining room table than the paper. He's done with markers for a while.

I've been on this kick lately of not wanting to buy stuff that I can make myself (bread & ice cream among other things). So today I decided I'd make peach ice cream. I love my countertop ice cream maker--much easier than the ones that require ice and rock salt (although they would make more ice cream than my cute little one makes). Of course, it's a little soft when it's done and needs to be put in the freezer (if there's anything left that is). . .

I'm happy to report today was a no accident day! yay for Zach's first sticker on his potty chart!

I decided we needed chore charts too...more about that another day!
