Daniel thought she needed her picture taken with the ice cream. I told him he was teasing her.
so he let her lick it. well, slime it.
and Jacob thought she should have the bottom portion of his cone. She LOVED it.
Little did I know that since he gave her part of his cone that meant he wanted part of mine!
This was from last week...
Good thing we only had to pick up a few things from the store!
We had a really nice weekend in Virginia. Saturday was the day we celebrated my grandma. It was so nice to see our out of town family members that we don't get to see often (it was nice to see the rest of the family too that doesn't live as far away!). We were busy doing some stuff at grandma's house on Sunday and it was super late by the time we left Powhatan and headed for our house in MD. It felt so different going to grandma's on Sunday--the realization that she's no longer here. Her house just wasn't the same. I took a few clippings off of her much admired snowball bush and we'll see if I can grow my own.
I managed to keep from boo-hooing until we pulled out of her driveway for what I think was probably the last time. As I looked back at the house as we drove down the street I had all kinds of memories flash through my head from the last 29 years.
As I walked the boys to school today they asked me what my favorite part of the weekend was and I told them it was getting to see everyone on Saturday...they both agreed that that was their favorite part too!
Tomorrow my plan is to get ourselves back in the (normal) swing of things!
