After 18 months, my grandma and grandpa were reunited in heaven today.
I know I gained another angel looking after my family when my grandma entered the pearly gates and I know my grandpa was right there waiting for her with a great big smile.
Those special memories of you will always bring a smile
if only I could have you back for just a little while.
Then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do
you always meant so very much and always will too.
The fact that you're no longer here will always cause me pain
but you're forever in my heart until we meet again.
Many, many years ago! Grandma and Grandpa with my Aunts and Uncles.
Dad is on the far right!
This was taken August 16th, 2012 when my grandma got to meet Emily for the first time.
all 3 kiddos with grandma and I. Jacob was Grandma's 1st great grandbaby, Zach was her 4th, and Emily was her 6th (she has 7 great grandbabies).
I'm so thankful that she was such a big part of my life and that she was able to be a part of my kids lives. She always came to their celebrations and always had a smile on her face! She only missed one and that was because she had a stroke a few days before it--and when I went to the hospital with my mom to go see her she said she would've much rather been at the party than in the hospital!
What a special Christmas this last one was. Definitely bittersweet but if she knew what was starting to happen (and I'm sure she did), it was one last time for her to be with the entire family again. Tears were shed but everyone was there and we all surrounded her with so much love.
Zach drew me a big heart at school today and gave it to me when I picked him up. He said it was just for me because he knew I was sad and he wanted to make me feel better. He said he's drawing one for Grandpa and one for Granny too since he knows they're sad also.
