We started off having Carol Lee donuts at the duck pond and then fed the ducks. (There was a fishing tournament going on and we did our best to stay away from the people fishing!)
Noah said he wasn't going to be in the picture!
After feeding the ducks we headed over to the fanzone...in the cold, windy, rainy weather.
somehow I didn't get the gigantic blow up creature that they were hitting with the "golf balls." (I don't know what they were but they definitely weren't actual golf balls!)
Emily got interviewed by the VT camera people.
Jacob too.
with the Commonwealth Cup trophy!
This poor cadet had no clue when he said hello to us as we walked by that we'd have a question for him. I believe it was something along the lines of why VT has a cannon and why they fire it at the games. I think we caught him off guard but he recovered quickly and gave us a nice lesson in VT history!
cold, rainy, and foggy!
Zach, Jacob, Emily, Andrew, & Josh (Noah wouldn't get in my picture again!)
We planned to tailgate before the game...the kids were all cold and wet from the fanzone so we opted to head back to the house and have lunch there and then head back to Tech. Somehow we got really lucky and were able to park right outside of the stadium!
After the game they let people onto the field. The big crowd in the background were getting autographs---our kids were happy just running around!
ta-da!
And then we notice a football player just walking across the field...
Chuck Clark, you made our day!
He was awesome and Jacob and Zach were so excited that they got to hold his helmet!
future hokies!
Then we had quite possibly the longest 45 minute wait for dinner ever.
they were fading fast. Jacob was starving. Andrew was sleeping. Zach was attempting to sleep. I can't remember what Emily, Josh or Noah were doing but I'm sure they were soooo hungry also.
A little while later our many pizzas arrived and were SOOOOO good.
We've definitely found our favorite pizza spot.
and I saw this the next morning at Cracker Barrel and it just spoke to me! :)
We had so much fun with the Noll family! Can't wait for more visits from friends!! :)
