18 more days...but who's counting?!

18 more days until we meet Emily! I'm so excited! The boys are too. Jacob was talking to her this evening and told her he couldn't wait to meet his baby sister (and then reminded her that it was his big brother Jacob talking to her!!).  The boys were super funny this evening.. they were "feeding" her through my belly button.

Daniel got to be the lucky supervisor to work the weekend shift at work today and tomorrow (it happens about once every 2 months) so it was just the boys and I today.

I asked them what they wanted for breakfast.. Jacob picked out pretzels and then both boys munched on them (then cereal!).
Zach was clearly ready for our every Saturday routine of t-ball...with the hat and shirt on already!

goofball

not only did they have cereal and pretzels for breakfast.. Zach picked out donuts yesterday for both of them too.. so they had those too! I'd consider it a well rounded meal!

Daniel did manage to sneak away from work for a little bit to coach the Ironbirds 2nd to last T-Ball game.

It was hot out...and our game was at 9:30 in the morning!!

Jacob had just pounded the ball. He was so excited about how hard he hit the ball and was grinning from ear to ear!

(and yes, I was standing in the baseline)

another good hit!

I love this one! High-fiving "coach dad" as he headed for home plate!

Josh, Abby, and Zach playing with trucks, cars, and tractors at the game.
They were highly entertained!

Jacob and his friend, Andrew. Clearly I was speaking a foreign language that only Andrew understood when I said "boys, smile!!"

Daniel suggested we go to church this evening since he has to be at work at 6am tomorrow. It sounded like a good idea to me even though I wasn't really sure how well behaved the boys would be. Mass was at 5pm so it was dinnertime and they didn't really have any down time to relax today. I took our bag of books as well as a snack for each of them and crossed my fingers. I have to brag for a minute about Zach. I was saying my prayers when we got there on the kneeler and trying to ignore any of the noises my kids were making (after all, Daniel was sitting there too!); I finished my prayers, made the sign of the cross, and then looked over at Zach. He was kneeling with his hands folded and his head bowed. He said he was being like me. It's so true that kids watch everything we do. I was so proud of him. It's definitely something I need to write down in his baby book for him to read about when he's bigger. Fast forward 30 minutes and he was asleep in my arms at church. Yep, he took a nap at 5:30 in the afternoon! To make it even better, we had walked to church today! Daniel carried him home and we hopped in the car and went out to dinner. He finally woke up when we were sitting at the restaurant but barely ate anything; he just wanted to go back to sleep!

It's been a long day for all of us! Boys are both sound asleep and so is Daniel! It might be time for me to be in dreamland too!
