Daniel signed us up this morning and the boys and I decided we'd head on over there after lunch today (poor Daniel was still at work! He did get to meet us there for a bit a little later though.). They have a big pool that they say is the largest in the state (that also has tube slides) and then a new "splash pool." We stayed in the splash pool for the entire 2 hours we were there. Daniel will probably venture over to the bigger pool with Jacob..the only problem is the shallowest part of it is 4 feet deep. Inflatables aren't allowed in the big pool..only certain approved life jackets. If we could get him comfortable in the bigger pool wearing a life jacket then I think he'd have a good time! My plan is to sign both boys up for swimming lessons too! I want them to learn about water safety and I'm not sure that I'm the best teacher for them since I'm such a worrier! I don't want my fears about water to be that evident to them! If it's just me taking the boys (and after Emily is born especially), we'll stay in the splash pool--it was highly entertaining and they were happy as could be in it! (and it has it's very own slide for the kids!)
testing it out...
Zach would've stayed all day! Right behind him in the picture is where the splash pool slide is. Jacob went down it twice.. Zach went once.
still testing it out...
Zach was having a very in depth conversation with this other little boy at the pool. No clue what they were talking about but they kept on chatting away!
Jacob...behind the really big fountainy thing.
just floating around!
Hi, mom!
beginning to realize it's ok if his face gets a teensy weensy drop of water on it!
Zach had just fallen forward while showing me how high he could jump in the water.
and didn't really know what to do!
Then just laughed about his silly little self.
Taking a break for a snack!
And back in again!
I had told them we had about 5 more minutes and then we needed to go...at one point Jacob was saying "mom, help!" as if I was going to be able to turn the water off so he could get out from under it without water getting on his face! Silly kid!
Back home and being silly.
Believe it or not, this actually didn't turn into anyone yelling or anyone being pushed off the couch! We had a super fantastic day...and are set to have plenty more!
