2 posts in one day! I'm on a roll!!! (or just feel like I need to play catch up!)
Our neighbor's little girl, Emma came over for a few minutes today and played with Emily. I called them both "Em" to keep myself straight!!
Daniel had class tonight so it was "wing it" dinner night at our house. I saw a commercial for Pillsbury crescent rolls where they rolled ham into them before they baked them. I decided that'd be something everyone would eat..but just in case I left 2 with nothing in them. Zach decided he liked them but only liked them enough to eat half of his and then wanted a plain one. Jacob took a bite and said "I don't like them mixed together." I made him take one more bite just to be sure. He was sure. He ate a plain one and then asked me to remove the ham from another one ..so I lovingly unrolled the crescent roll and pulled the ham out! (and shoved the ham in my mouth!!)
This is his "I really don't like what my mom asked me to take a second bite of when she heard me say I didn't like it the first time" expression.
My name is Emily and I'm 12 weeks old today!!
I like to smile and laugh!
and I'm already taking after my daddy with my finger in my nose. yep, I went there.
The boys have been very into drawing and writing lately.
We've only had one mishap with a little bit of pen on my couch.
Jacob drew pictures for a story.
He asked me if we could write the words down tonight right before bedtime...I asked if we could write it in the morning since it was so late. He said that ok. (it's time consuming. he tells me the words and I spell them out while he writes them down.) This was page 1.
page 2.
and page 3.
Jake though it'd be so nice to take a picture of the 3 of them to send to Daniel. Emily wanted nothing to do with it. She was much happier 5 minutes later when I put her in her bathtub.
I had asked Daniel if he he had a break that he'd be able to Skype with the kids during (they did get to see him this morning before he left for work but that was it for the day.. and tomorrow he'll be in NY so they won't see him). He said he normally gets a break around 7:30 in that particular class so I went on with my plans for getting the kids in the tub (well, they call it a tub-shower. The shower is going but the plug is in the tub so it collects water. Both boys are happy and in there at the same time which just makes my life easier.). Emily was in her little bathtub on the floor in the bathroom while the boys were in the shower and I get a text from Daniel asking if we can skype with him. I figured "sure! we can do this!" HAHAHAHA. Boy was I wrong. As soon as we started the call Emily scooted herself down in her tub so she was pretty much floating on her back. Daniel got to look at our ceiling light in the bathroom while I scooted her back up. I had just enough time to pick up the phone and let Emily see Daniel and smile and gurgle at him before she scooted back down. We did this a couple of times and then I finally let the boys say hi to him very quickly (from inside the shower!) and said "this is just not a good time! I need to go!" We hung up and Emily scooted down while smiling over and over and over again everytime I picked her up. She knew exactly what she was doing! After probably the 20th time I decided we were done! (Well, I needed to brush Zach's teeth and couldn't do it with her in her tub since she kept scooting down...) I have to say, we actually had a quite enjoyable evening! We read our books and said our prayers, the boys included their friends across the street, Connor & Abby, in our prayers tonight (they prayed that they'd have a good night sleep!).
Hopefully tomorrow will be just as nice--minus the ham in the crescent rolls--since I'll be a single parent again for a day!
Here's the lamp pictures I mentioned before...
