It's a picture of me and in case it wasn't obvious who it was, he wrote "Zach Mom."
Earlier last week I saw this one:
He remembered the "s" in this one so it's "Zachs Mom."
When I picked him up from school and saw the last one I asked him "Did you do this all by yourself?" He said he did. Not sure if I didn't believe him or what but then I asked him "Did your teacher help you spell any of it or write any of it?" And of course, he said no! So proud of my little man! He's been writing his name on his papers with an uppercase Z and the rest of the letters in lowercase.
Both boys have really been enjoying school and are excited for their 3rd week of school to start in the morning! Zach was on blue 3 out of the 4 days of school last week!! (and green the other day!) Jacob was on blue 1 of the 4 (and green the rest). Zach has been able to tell me everyday what he's done to get blue! Zach also collected 5 "telly tickets" I'm still not sure what a telly ticket is but I'm positive we'll find out during the open house in a week. Apparently when you get 5 of these tickets you get to choose from the treasure chest so this past Thursday he got to choose and he picked a little notebook and pen set. Boy was he excited to show them to me when I picked him up that day! I asked him what he had to do to get the tickets and got no response!
I got an email over the weekend from Jacob's teacher that was really nice also. It's quite possible that she sends the exact same one out to each child's parent(s) but I was happy to get it! Here's what it said:
Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Durrbeck,
I just wanted to let you know how lucky we are to have Jacob in our kindergarten class! Jacob is such a bright student who works hard everyday. He has such great ideas and stories to share with us. I love having conversations with him. I know he will grow so much this school year!
Have a great weekend!
I am so appreciative that his teacher has taken the time to send a couple of emails out to us; it helps me feel better about him being gone for so long during the day. His teacher seems awesome and really seems to love working with the students. Jacob is definitely excited to go to school everyday! (Something I was worried about too because he was so bored the last couple of months of Preschool and didn't want to go.)
When I got Zach from school on Friday he sung a song to me that he had learned at school. I took a video of him singing it to send to Daniel while he was at work. He wasn't quite as animated on the vieo as he was when he first sung it to me!
I was needing something to put a few papers for each of the boys in that attached to the fridge. I know I've seen something like what I'm looking for at Target before (but probably didn't want to spend the money on it)--Daniel looked at Walmart and didn't see what I described to him...so I made my own.....
They're not perfect but they do what I need them to! AND, I already had everything I needed to make them (including the super strong magnet clips!). Yay, me! Daniel laughed at how proud I was of them.
Here's to another fantastic week!
