anyone up for ice cream for dinner?

We are!

Zach got on blue today at school and Daniel was out of town so we decided to go to Rita's before dinnertime. (We ate dinner after we got back..)

Jacob asked me to bring his scooter to school this afternoon when I picked him up and since it's light enough I figured I would! Zach decided to ride his bike and said he would be "as fast as Jacob since Jacob is riding his scooter and I'm riding my bike!" I guess there's nothing wrong with friendly brotherly competition! As soon as we got home Zach asked for a turn on Jacob's scooter and actually did really well on it. Zach has a scooter of his own but it's a 3 wheeled razor scooter instead of a 2 wheeled one (actually the boys call it a scooter with training wheels... and since Zach is the typical little brother and wants to be just like his big brother, he was wanting to have a scooter without training wheels!!)...the 3 wheeled ones don't zoom quite as quickly as the others! Jacob suggested Zach ask Santa for a new scooter for Christmas then I suggested he use his birthday money from Mrs. Davis for one so he didn't have to wait 3 months. He thought that was a fantastic idea and since we were already going out tonight we just stopped at walmart on the way and went scooter shopping!

Based on the picture on the box we thought this one was red (Zach's favorite color) but once we opened the box up at home we saw it was blue. He didn't mind though! I think he was just so excited to have his own big boy scooter that it could've been pink and he wouldn't have minded (well, maybe he would've minded that!!). He also saw Jacob with a green eye looking at his new scooter and that made him love it even more!
Yes, it really is that tall. I was hoping it had an adjustable handlebar like Jake's but it doesn't. (Although I'm not sure that Jacob's is really meant to be adjustable..)

I brought Jacob's in the house to see how adjustable the height actually was (not really at all) and then the boys thought they'd have a scooter race...

Our hallway isn't that long anyway but when you have a mom standing in it trying to take a picture it's even shorter!! They were good sports. I guess you sort of have to be if you're lucky enough to be riding your scooter like a mad man through the house!!

Emily just hung out in the living room the whole time and stayed out of their way!
It's never too early to be a ballerina!
