Our first camping trip...

Sooooo...Friday night we went camping with 2 other families. We used to say "when the boys are a little bigger we'll take them camping..." well, now the boys are a little bigger...but we have another little one! Some friends of ours were trying to coordinate a camping trip with us and another family and last night was the night that worked for all of us. We had a really nice time, all of us (Emily included!).

Emily while we were setting up camp.

Some of the kids looking at something at the Rubinstein's campsite.

Jacob, posing.

Take one like this, mom.

Scootering around. One of the adults with us (yes, I have to mention he's an adult), Mike, decided to test out his son's scooter down the fairly steep hill by our site...it ended with a tuck and roll and a beat up looking Mike. Pretty sure he won't make that mistake again (at least not at this site).

Josh, possibly imitating his dad.

Zach going to see what all the other kids are doing.

Emily might've been the youngest camper but she wasn't the only baby!

Daniel & Emily, Josh, Mr. Jacob, Mike & Noah, Jen, and you can sort of see Megan's head over Jen's right shoulder!

Saturday morning!

Jen cooking bacon while Megan takes a picture of me taking a picture.

They found a frog, a teeny tiny frog.

Look closely at Jacob's shirt...Can you see it?

That's how tiny it is.

Proud that he "held" the frog. (he actually did want to hold the frog but it jumped on his shirt in an attempt to escape the hovering children.)

Still trying to escape.

This is about when I yelled "Jacob don't step on it!" Because yes, I was worried he would and ewwwww. yuck.

Connor wanted to hold the frog next...

But the frog jumped in Abby's hair. She flung him out and we're pretty sure he got injured during the flight to the ground. I love Jen's face in this picture...and wish that I could see Connor's a little bit better!

Hoping to find the frog again. Pretty sure he was a goner.

See the acorn? They were HUGE and falling all around us the entire 19 hours we were there. They made so much noise hitting the cars that they woke us up!
Zach and Josh peeling up the moss and finding ants.

Emily's morning snooze. The guys all went fishing and the gals (and Noah) stayed back and umm..relaxed. Not so much. We cleaned up camp and took the tents down. Lucky we did that too because sweet little Josh got injured while the guys were fishing and the Noll family had to leave for Josh to get checked out (and get stitches. Poor thing!). Talk about excitement!

Jacob being goofy before we left.

Now like this, mom.

This would be good too, mom.

I'd say we had a pretty darn good time and would do it again! Hopefully next time we'd have fewer injuries! On the bright side, when the guys all went fishing, Zach caught a fish! I wasn't there to take a picture but I sent my camera with Daniel. Guess what? He didn't take a picture (I should be thankful that he didn't touch my camera with his fishy, baity fingers I guess!) however, Mike took one with Jen's phone so now I'm gonna have to bug them to send it to me! :-)
