Memorial Day Fun!! (and then some!)
Our "t-ball friends" Mike and Jen invited us to watch the Memorial Day parade in our town with them. Luckily it was at 10am yesterday so it was before it got too hot to be outside! We had a great time!
Not only did we see t-ball friends, we saw preschool friends too!! This was before the parade started and the kids were all running around entertaining themselves!
Jacob was sitting so nicely..and yes, I did attempt to get a picture of both boys sitting on the stump and well, you can figure out how that went!
Jacob got up and Zach started dancing!
They were all staring at the stump. Soon after Coach Mike went over and attempted to teach them how to figure out how old the tree was.
Let the parade begin!!!
Really loud firetrucks! Zach wanted to wave the flag and cover his ears!
so sweet.
Relay for Life walkers. Made me teary eyed thinking about my Aunt who lost her battle with breast cancer almost a year ago. She sure fought a good fight and I wish she was still here and could walk with the survivors.
The Ironbirds mascot! How cool!! How fitting that Andrew was wearing his Ironbirds hat too! (Andrew and Jacob are on the same little league t-ball team.)
This was probably the highlight for the kids (well, Zach at least). This band was playing super fun music and the kids were dancing and having a great time!
The accordion player came right over to the kids!
and then I made blondies for Memorial Day!
Daniel laughed at my little American flags (that yes I made and glued to toothpicks so I could stick them in!). Jacob LOVED my little flags. Megan--there was not only coconut in them but pecans too....so I didn't share. Next time they'll be plain...maybe.
Then came Tuesday...........................................
Today was Zach's last day of his first year of preschool! Tomorrow is Jake's. Zach had a great last day and I had a surprise waiting for them when they got home!
a pool!!!! It's not huge but they LOVE IT! And yep, I bought them little tube floaters and beach balls for our 10" of water!
They were having such a great time...we hadn't even made it into the house yet. After about 30 minutes they decided they were hungry and wanted to go inside for lunch. BUT, as I'm typing this now, I'm sitting outside with my laptop...while they "swim" some more! I took a video of them and will attempt to upload it to post later! I just gave them a 5 minute warning....and then it's quiet time! woo-hoo!
Pretty sure I got the "Best Mom Ever" award today!

Our visit with the Blackburns!
We visited with some wonderful friends on Saturday!
Bernadette, Brandon, & Sammy. We’ve been lucky enough to get to see them
two times in the last month!
The kids enjoyed playing in Sam's little pool and the sprinkler for a while!
Sam was quite excited to “swim” while my kids wanted to make
sure their towels were laid out first!
Daniel was in charge of taking pictures at first….this was
the best shot at getting all 3 of them to look at the camera!
Fun in the silly sprinkler!
More fun!
Apparently the other sprinkler wasn’t as fun as it looked so
they got out a normal lawn sprinkler.
So all 3 of them were taking turns running and jumping into
the pool. As soon as I started taking pictures of this Sam stopped doing it!
The 3 guilty culprits that were throwing ice on Bernadette and I!
After quite a bit of running and jumping into the pool there
was a nice little muddy spot that they were stepping in as they were jumping
into the pool…so the water in the pool looked like a mud bath. It was time for
clean water!
It was at this point that Bernadette (sitting right behind
them) got quite the shower from the hose!
Jumping in the clean water!
Isn’t she just sweet? Apparently she was scared of me (and
only me!) when we got there. Not sure if it was me waving like a crazy lady to
her as she was watching us get our stuff out of the car when we got there (and
apparently she was crying in the window then)…or if it was when I decided to
poke my head around the couch as she was hiding as far back in the corner as she could possibly get…she started crying
again then! I can’t remember what question the 3 adults not making her cry
asked her..it was either what’s wrong or what’s scaring you or something like
that and she pointed to me!!! So, I crawled into the corner and hid from her
then! She did warm up to me soon after that and didn’t pout when she saw me!
Phew!!
Brandon has a pool table that the kids think is just great!
And Sammy got this bouncey worm thing for her birthday in
February. I’ve never seen them before but wow was it fun! It’s going to have to
go on the list of things that Emily “needs!”
Zach and Sam were having a picnic and Brandon thought he’d
teach them how to toast. It was quite comical. Even when Zach decided he’d
rather drink his pretend champagne Sam wanted to toast him so she’d reach over
and tap his glass while he was either drinking from it or just holding it on
the floor..
They were just tooooo cute!

Nothing new here!
So I have nothing really fabulous to post about... we've (well, Daniel's) been busy getting Emily's room finished up. I'm hoping to move furniture into it tomorrow! woo-hoo!! We still have to do work in our room so we're holding off on getting new carpet until thats done (so yeah, the carpet is gonna continue to look ghetto from where we've moved walls/built walls etc.).
We visited with Bernadette, Brandon, and Sammy yesterday and had a fantastic time. I took lots of pictures but still need to get them off my camera. Maybe a little bit later I'll do that! Zach and Sammy had a blast playing in her little pool (and Jake did too just didn't stay out in it quite as long). They had oodles of fun in the sprinkler too. We just had a wonderful time!
Today our neighbors had their "1st Annual Seafood Fest" which doubled as a graduation party for Mr. Jacob getting his MBA. Everyone seemed to have a great time despite the heat! I made cute little sailboat cupcakes since he likes sailing so much (and they were Megan's request!). And no, I haven't started eating seafood....there were hot dogs and chicken for the people like me!

(yes, I took the picture with my phone so the quality isn't great. I did take my camera with me to the party to take pictures but didn't take the first picture!! I know, it's a first for me and I feel slightly guilty about it!)
Friday evening we took a drive to West Chester, PA to get a jogging stroller for me. (not that I'm going to be a runner by any means but the boys like riding their bikes so much that I decided I was going to need a stroller that I could push easily and quickly to sort of keep up with them.. and maybe jog a little bit too!) My friend, Sarah, had been looking hard for me for a nice stroller at a good price and she found one!!
My new Bumbleride! I'm so excited to use it! I pushed it around the garage when we got home after getting it! It's in just about brand new condition and I'm sure Emily will be comfy not to mention stylish riding around in her new stroller!
In exactly one month baby Emily will be here! yay! Let's hope the next month goes by quickly!

Happy Anniversary/Father's Day/Birthday Daniel!
Daniel's been dropping hints lately about wanting to be able to have a nice comfy chair to have "daddy naps" with Emily...and to play Mariokart with the boys. I understood him loud and clear so I decided we needed to go shopping for a recliner! We went to a few different stores on Sunday and then ended up at the lazyboy store on Monday (Daniel had taken the day off to celebrate our anniversary). I think he fell in love all over again...only this time with a chair. We didn't buy it that day but I decided to go buy it today after my ultrasound appointment at the hospital. Luckily it was in stock so after I picked the boys up from school we drove to the lazyboy distribution center to pick up Daniel's new PowerRecline XR Rocker Recliner. He had absolutely no idea we had bought it or picked it up! The boys were happy to test it out after we hauled it in the house! (Yes, I was stubborn and maneuvered it in all by myself! Moved the furniture around in the living room about a gazillion times trying to find the best arrangement too!) I've decided we need a bigger living room!
Daniel of course ended up working late and I didn't want to rush him home and have him think something was going on..he was quite happy to see it in our living room. Jacob even hid behind the loveseat and jumped out and yelled "surprise!! we got you a new chair!" when Daniel walked in.
We went out to dinner tonight to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary (it was yesterday but we had Zach's t-ball pictures and a game last night so we decided we'd just wait til tonight!). We went to a yummy restaurant called the Chesapeake Inn where you can eat right next to the water! We threw food into the water and watched the HUGE fish gobble it up when we were done!
I'm thinking about moving stuff around again in the morning.. and moving the rest of the toys into the playroom. For now though, I'm sitting nice and comfy in Daniel's new chair...while he paints Emily's room. :-)
It's his Happy Anniversary, Happy Father's Day, and even Happy Birthday present!
He loves it and says it was worth every penny! He works so hard for our family and deserves a nice comfy chair to relax in!
