Baby BBQ!

My sister-in-law, Mary, bugged me from the time she found out I was pregnant until I finally gave in and said we could have a "shower" to welcome baby Emily. I told her instead of having a traditional shower that I'd rather have a BBQ that families were welcome at instead of just the ladies! It was just wonderful! We got so many fantastic gifts and felt so blessed to be surrounded by loved ones for such a special occassion. A big thanks to Mary for planning such a perfect event and to my parents for hosting it at their house!
The invite...

The hit of the party...
my parent's fountain.
The kids all just loved playing in it! Thank you, daddy, for making the yard and gardens look so wonderful for everyone to enjoy! And thank you, mommy, for picking out such wonderful flowers and making dad dig so many holes!

The cake!

yes, I made my own cake. Mary offered to get me one from somewhere but obviously I told her I was making it myself!

The beautiful blanket Bernadette made me. :-) I just love it and so will Emily!

One of the afghans my mommy made.

My Grandma Gibson and Aunt Denise (dad's mom and sister).
I was so glad they were able to make it!

the boys driving their Aunt Celia and Uncle Marc crazy!
Thank you so much to everyone who came (and those of you that had other obligations, I thought about you guys too!!). I felt so loved and special to have everyone there that meant so much to me. Baby Emily is so loved already and I can't wait for each and every one of you to meet her! 6 more weeks!! It was really a perfect beginning to my Mother's Day weekend. :-)

The first Mother's Day in quite a few years that I got to spend the day with my mom!
She's the best mom in the world. I'm clearly not the best daughter in the world though because I still have to find the perfect gift for her! Hopefully I'll have something for her the next time I see her and it'll be just as wonderful as she is!!!
