Our "t-ball friends" Mike and Jen invited us to watch the Memorial Day parade in our town with them. Luckily it was at 10am yesterday so it was before it got too hot to be outside! We had a great time!
Not only did we see t-ball friends, we saw preschool friends too!! This was before the parade started and the kids were all running around entertaining themselves!
Jacob was sitting so nicely..and yes, I did attempt to get a picture of both boys sitting on the stump and well, you can figure out how that went!
Jacob got up and Zach started dancing!
They were all staring at the stump. Soon after Coach Mike went over and attempted to teach them how to figure out how old the tree was.
Let the parade begin!!!
Really loud firetrucks! Zach wanted to wave the flag and cover his ears!
so sweet.
Relay for Life walkers. Made me teary eyed thinking about my Aunt who lost her battle with breast cancer almost a year ago. She sure fought a good fight and I wish she was still here and could walk with the survivors.
The Ironbirds mascot! How cool!! How fitting that Andrew was wearing his Ironbirds hat too! (Andrew and Jacob are on the same little league t-ball team.)
This was probably the highlight for the kids (well, Zach at least). This band was playing super fun music and the kids were dancing and having a great time!
The accordion player came right over to the kids!
and then I made blondies for Memorial Day!
Daniel laughed at my little American flags (that yes I made and glued to toothpicks so I could stick them in!). Jacob LOVED my little flags. Megan--there was not only coconut in them but pecans too....so I didn't share. Next time they'll be plain...maybe.
Then came Tuesday...........................................
Today was Zach's last day of his first year of preschool! Tomorrow is Jake's. Zach had a great last day and I had a surprise waiting for them when they got home!
a pool!!!! It's not huge but they LOVE IT! And yep, I bought them little tube floaters and beach balls for our 10" of water!
They were having such a great time...we hadn't even made it into the house yet. After about 30 minutes they decided they were hungry and wanted to go inside for lunch. BUT, as I'm typing this now, I'm sitting outside with my laptop...while they "swim" some more! I took a video of them and will attempt to upload it to post later! I just gave them a 5 minute warning....and then it's quiet time! woo-hoo!
Pretty sure I got the "Best Mom Ever" award today!
