date night!!

Daniel and I had our first "date night" in umm..... 6 years tonight. (I guess we did go out about a year and a half ago for an alumni evening at Longwood Gardens but I'm not counting that one!). Mom volunteered herself and my dad to watch the kids so we could go out to a nice dinner. We did get everyone to bed before we left but I guess Jake stayed up there awake for a bit and Emily woke up at one point and needed snuggling. :-) Everyone was well taken care of!

Earlier in the day Emily enjoyed some sleepy snuggles with her Granny (my mom)..

 

and a minute later... 

Daniel and I went to Longhorn for dinner. We were going to go to Texas Roadhouse but there were sooo many people waiting we couldn't even get to the counter to put our name on the list! We did have a little wait at Longhorn but it went by quickly. We had a really nice dinner without interruptions from our sweet, lovable, obnoxious children. It was nice to not remind someone to stay seated, behave, stop yelling, etc.

Now to try some of the crock pot cake I made earlier..... .... .... mmmmmm.
