Getting his perfect attendance award from his teacher.
Pretty sure he's the tallest kid in his class!!!
getting his PBIS award from his teacher.
He did smile over at me after he stood in his spot--I was too busy smiling back at him that I didn't snap the picture!
and yes, his hair needs a trim. (and it's all wacky from wearing a hat this morning too)
He was proud of himself too!
Pretty sure he was most excited to see Emily.
Love. He did ask where Zach was---still at school! Pre-K must not give out awards...at least they weren't on the awards assembly schedule!
Zach in his scooby doo pj's.
Jacob has set the standard now (for all 3 of them)! He knows how important school is and what my expectations are, he's proving to me that it's important to him too!! I am so incredibly proud of him. I hope this was the first of many awards assemblies I'm invited to attend.
My mom's cousin, Diane, has 3 amazing children who seem to excel at everything they do (and they do A LOT!!). So here's to you, John, Jessica, and Elena, I hope that all three of my children follow in your footsteps and are amazing at everything they do. I hope they push themselves further than they think is possible and succeed. Regardless, I will be proud of them. And kudos to you, Annie, for being such a wonderful mom! Between you and my mom, you've set the motherhood bar pretty high!
(And while I'm thinking of my long time female role models I should mention Mrs. Davis--she has always been like a second mom to me and has taught me a lot that I plan to pass on to my kids!)
So, I think I should say that today I am thankful for my mom, Annie, and Mrs. Davis. The 3 best moms I know who all have helped shape me into the perfect woman/wife/mother/daughter/sister/friend that I am today. Thank you for all being such a big part of my life and a part of my children's lives as well. I love you all!

ReplyDeleteBecause of being swamped with school, I have gotten behind on your blog (which is almost like a guilty pleasure!). Instead of reading "Moby Dick" like a good student, I decided I missed your munchkins and I KNEW there would be pictures on your blog. As I scrolled from top to bottom, reading and getting all caught up, imagine my surprise when I start to read about ME and your three cousins! You are very, very kind, but I have to share a little secret with you. (And your mom will back me up because I've said this often enough to her...). For years I have told myself that if my three turned out half as well as you and Cecilia, then they would be alright. I loved the summers when you two were just teeny-boppers and would come spend a week or so with us because you were such good role models for the kids (AND because you were fun and I loved to spend time with you!). I have always been so grateful that your mom was willing to share you two with me from time to time. I remember taking Celia to have her make-up done at a department store when she got old enough to wear make-up. And your mom allowed me to take you to get your ears pierced (for the 2nd time). You and your sister are beautiful, intelligent, talented, GOOD people, and you set the bar high for John, Jess, and Elena. Your mom is the best Big Sister a cousin could have, and you guys are the best role model cousins my three could have. We have been and continue to be blessed by you all.
