We voted!!

We had voting confusion this morning! I attempted to be prepared (well, as prepared as I could)...when we moved neither Daniel nor myself updated our address in the voter registry so our address still showed us at the house we first moved to in MD (not too far from where we live now). I contacted the Maryland election people and they said we would be going to the polling place for our new address and using a provisional ballot. Those were the directions I gave Daniel this morning....he got to our new polling place and they told him to go to the polling location for where we were registered! Geeeeez! He called me and I told him where the other place was and thats where he went. He called when he was leaving and said something along the lines of "now would be a good time for you to come vote since you'll have 3 kids with you (insert classic Daniel chuckle here). It's not busy at all in comparison to the first place." I hustled us along and got us all ready and out the door we went! I made sure the boys knew that even though they knew who I was voting for it was not information that they needed to share with other people. :-) They were good little men while we were in there (and Emily was a good little lady). Zach spotted the bowl of candy as soon as we got in the door ... (but I ignored his requests to look at the table with the candy until my ballot was complete!).
And of course along with my "I voted" sticker, all 3 kids got "Future Voter" stickers.

Now pay attention to Emily's face in the next 4 pictures...

I just love it!

A short bit later this happened......

Emily also took an amazing nap and woke up in such a wonderful mood!

Anyone that sees Jacob with Emily can see the absolute love he has for her. He is just the most perfect big brother to her ever. So much love. I remember saying something to a friend a few months ago about what a wonderful brother her oldest was to her youngest (her oldest is about a month older than Jacob and her youngest is about 5 months older than Emily) and she told me she was sure Jacob would be the same. I remember feeling unsure about that at the time but she couldn't have been more right!

In other news I bought a new table runner today! :-)

I stole an idea from an old high school friend to make a "thankful tree" for the kids to put what they were thankful for on. Everyday they've been telling me something they're thankful for and we put it on our tree. I'll take a picture of it for tomorrow's blog if I remember. I haven't been one to announce what I'm thankful for on facebook like a lot of people are doing but I have been writing it down to put on our tree. I've attempted to get Daniel to do it too but he's only put one thing on our tree so far! Anyways, today I was thankful for the right to vote but as I was feeling chilly in our living room this evening I decided I was thankful for something else too...

our gas logs.
with the push of a button we have instant warmth!
