When I got home with Zach this afternoon he had one request, "mommy, can we play outside?" I was really hoping Emily would take a nap right then so I told him to come inside for a few minutes while I put her down for a nap and then we could. It took longer than a few minutes to get her settled but when we finally got outside he said "how about we get these leaves into a pile for me to jump in?" That sounded like a job for super dad to me so I suggested we pick up sticks. That quickly turned into me picking up stick or two and then pushing him on his tree swing..and repeat. Daniel got home and Zach shared his idea with him so Daniel started raking! Once I got Jacob from school the leaf pile was just about ready for jumping in! (and Emily was awake...and grumpy!) Apparently the thing to do was jump off of their swings into the pile....and boy did it look like fun!
Emily's first leaf tasting.

Daniel thought he'd try it out too.
When Emily's unhappy, we're all unhappy.
In other news, today was family and community visitation day at school (part of American Education Week) and I got to sit in on both of the boys' classes. Neither noticed me when I first got into their classroom so I was sort of like a fly on the wall. Once they saw me they just waved their little fingers at me and carried on with their work! I was in each of their classes for about an hour and really enjoyed my short experiences in Pre-K and Kindergarten!
